1915 Maurer Style 593 Guitar
Here’s the the Maurer top-of-the line guitar built by the famed Larson Brothers — an extremely rare presentation grade Style 593. There are very few Model 593s in existence and this instrument is exactly like the one played on our Tone Poems project by the legendary Tony Rice.
The body size is the same as a Martin 00 with a thinner depth and a 25 ⅛” scale length. The top is constructed of tight grained spruce, the back and sides are Brazilian rosewood and the neck is mahogany, with an ornate pearl “Tree of Life” inlay on the fretboard, and matching floral inlay on the peghead, with abalone purfling running around the body and soundhole, and engraved star inlays on the bridge. This guitar is in excellent playing condition, with some pick wear on the top near the bridge and one professionally repaired crack on the treble side. The bridge has been shaved and the saddle is low but it plays easily and intonates perfectly.
$20,000 with period hard shell case.
