1942 Gibson F-4 Mandolin (“Tone Poems”)
This mandolin is one of the last F-4s that Gibson made, and as such, it has several unique features, including an elevated fingerboard rarely seen on oval-hole mandolins and an apparently re-purposed Loar era mandola headstock veneer. This F-4 has been part of my collection for decades and I played it on the original Tone Poems project with Tony Rice. It is in excellent playing condition with original hardware and “red-line” hard case.
$12,500 with “red-line” hard case
