Jacob do Bandolim
In the early 1990s, Acoustic Disc issued two volumes of the music of Jacob do Bandolim, the first and only releases by the master of Brazil’s first authentic musical genre, choro, in the USA. Now after three decades, we are proud to present Volume III of this incredible music.
These 22 tracks were selected by David Grisman and include many of Jacob’s compositions as well as works by Ernesto Nazareth and others. The informative notes were written by Brazilian mandolin virtuoso Danilo Brito, perhaps the greatest living exponent of Jacob’s choro style. We are thrilled to once again make more of this timeless music available.
