This 1993 collaboration of David Grisman and classical violinist Daniel Kobialka (the principal second violinist with the San Francisco Symphony at that time) features traditional American songs and fiddle tunes arranged by Dawg. Other musicians heard here include bass virtuoso Edgar Meyer, banjo player Tony Trischka, Jerry Garcia, Grisman's longtime bassist, Jim Kerwin, guitarist Enrique Coria, with a cameo appearance by David’s son Monroe Grisman on guitar. Soulful interpretations of Jay Unger’s classic “Ashokan Farewell”, Benny Thomasson's "Midnight on the Water" and favorite traditional folk melodies like "Barbara Allen" and "Wayfaring Stranger" are among the many highlights of this wonderful recording.
