David Grisman Quintet
In August, 2004, the DGQ played a concert at the Sunset Center in Carmel, California, the setting for Errol Garner's famed live 1955 recording, Concert By The Sea. The band includes David, Jim Kerwin (bass), Matt Eakle (flute and bass flute), Enrique Coria (guitar) and Joe Craven (violin & percussion).
The sets were recorded by DGQ soundman Larry Cumings and later mixed in Dawg Studios by Dave Dennison and Dawg. Both sets are included in this collection of Dawg classics from this superlative performance in a legendary setting.
NOTE: This release previously had a different cover and was formerly called "David Grisman Quintet Live at the Sunset Center, Carmel, CA 8-19-04."
