Jacob do Bandolim was not only one of choro music's most gifted composers, but also acknowledged by many as the greatest mandolinist Brazil has ever produced.
Until this collection, Jacob's music was only available on foreign releases. Nevertheless there’s a substantial underground following of musicians and aficionados of quality acoustic and Brazilian music who hold Jacob do Bandolim in the highest esteem. The program includes some of his most popular and best-loved melodies — “Assanhado,” “Vibracoes,” and “Santa Morena.”
