Tyler Jackson & David Grisman

Tyler Jackson, master of the tenor banjo, tenor guitar and double bass, and David Grisman have produced a beautifully realized addition to Acoustic Disc’s widely acclaimed Tone Poems series of recordings. They’ve embraced an expansive breadth of repertoire and near-extinct instrumental techniques, and then applied both to a stash of exceedingly rare “tenor” instruments. The result is a compelling manifestation of a vanished but deeply resonant century of uniquely American music.

This project includes solo, duo, trio and more, newly-recorded performances of classic pieces featuring over 50 rare and unique vintage instruments with a beautiful 24-page virtual pdf booklet, with essays on the instruments, the music, the players and over 100 photographs and historical images.
