Dawg & Danny discuss and listen to selections from Swing Violin Masterpieces, a four volume compilation of the earliest recordings of the great Danish jazz violinist, Svend Asmussen. David met Svend, one of his musical heroes, when he was touring in Denmark during the summer of 1985, and subsequently they toured and recorded together. This collection includes 79 classic tracks, recorded between 1935 and 1950, some of the best swing fiddling you’ll ever hear!

Martin is the Scottish guitar virtuoso who toured and recorded with Stephane Grappelli for a decade, and it was during this time that he and David became friends and musical collaborators. These recordings of classic standards from the “great American songbook” include long-time DGQ members Jim Kerwin on bass and George Marsh on drums.
