Dawg & Danny discuss and listen to selections from Early Dawg Deluxe, Hardcore Bluegrass in the Dawghouse and Del & Dawg Live, three Acoustic Disc/Oasis projects featuring Bluegrass Hall of Famers Del McCoury and David Grisman. Episode 40: Jethro Burns & Tiny Moore – Back to Back

Dawg & Danny discuss and listen to selections from Back to Back, the Acoustic Disc project featuring the masters of mandolin jazz, Jethro Burns and Tiny Moore, originally produced on LP for Kaleidoscope Records in 1979 by David Grisman. This episode tells the story of this historic meeting of two mandolin geniuses and the sessions that included three other legendary musicians, bassist Ray Brown, drummer Shelly Manne and guitarist/arranger Eldon Shamblin, with guest appearances by the Dawg himself.

Dawg & Danny discuss and listen to selections from The Man with the  Violin and Piano Explorations, two Acoustic Oasis projects featuring the legendary master musician, Stephane Grappelli. This episode traces Stephane’s musical history, from his famed collaborations with gypsy guitar genius, Django Reinhardt and their Quintet of the Hot Club of France, through his re-emergence in the 1970s with the Diz Disley Trio, recorded live in concert at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall, where David Grisman first heard and met him.
