Dawg & Danny discuss and listen to selections from the Acoustic Disc project, Portrait of an American Original, an artistic tribute to San Francisco’s legendary mandolinist/composer, Rudy Cipolla. This project, released in Rudy’s 95th year, is a collection of his compositions interpreted by the David Grisman Quintet, Mike Marshall’s Modern Mandolin Quartet, Evan Marshall, Radim Zenkl, the Rudy Cipolla Ensemble and others. Rudy was truly a 20th century composer — living from 1900 to 2000, and his music was as engaging as it was unique.
